Border control

Traveling from Denmark to Sweden

Ordinary entry regulations according to the Schengen Border Code are in effect, and from 2015 the Swedish Police can perform border control at an inner border. Therefore you need to bring valid ID with you. For the Öresundståg the control usually takes place at the first station in Sweden - Hyllie station. Passengers who get off there are checked on the platform and others on board the train.

Traveling from Sweden to Denmark

From 12 May 2023, the Danish police will no longer have a fixed passport control at station CPH Airport (Kastrup) when traveling from Sweden to Denmark. But they can carry out a periodic border control when entering Denmark. Periodic control mean that they make random samples of a selection of passengers, who are checked for example on board or on the platform.

You therefore need to be able to identify yourself. Read more on the Danish police's website: https://politi.dk/en/travel-id

These controls shall not affect the train schedule.
