From 11 December 2022, Transdev is responsible for the operation of the Öresund train and Mantena for the maintenance.

The agreement with Transdev includes the operation of the Öresund train service, including staffing on board with train drivers and train attendants, operational management and planning of the traffic, disruption management and emergency replacement traffic, interior cleaning of the trains, as well as other service services such as lost property management. For the assignment, Transdev has around 700 employees.

At the Hässleholm depot outside Hässleholm, the trains are serviced, repaired and washed. Responsibility for maintenance of the Öresund trains lies with Mantena, which has approximately 100 employees for the task.

The Öresundståg service started in connection with the opening of the fixed link between Sweden and Denmark on 1 July 2000. From the beginning, the traffic was mainly a commuter between Malmö and Copenhagen, but soon the traffic on the Swedish side developed to also include the lines to Helsingborg and Kristianstad and on the Danish side towards Helsingör. In this way, traffic was linked between the countries in a larger circulation on both sides of the sound.
After a few years, traffic in Sweden developed to include neighboring counties to Skåne in collaboration with SJ, and in connection with the traffic procurement in 2009, the principals were given traffic rights between the counties to create a cohesive traffic system in southern Sweden.

Every week, about half a million journeys are made by Öresundståg. We are proud and happy that 9 out of 10 travelers say that they are satisfied or very satisfied with their latest trip with us, according to our recurring quality measurements.
