Explanatory text for environmental index

All travel has a greater or lesser impact on the environment. The environmental impact for all travel alternatives is presented in the form of a pie chart. Our calculation of the environmental impact compares the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions of the various travel alternatives.

Our ambition is to provide an objective picture of the environmental impact of different travel alternatives. View the results as differences in magnitude rather than precise data. The results are given per person for the entire journey.

Input data is based on information from the Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute (VTI), the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, the Network for Transport and Environment (NTM) and other organisations.
